Mandawa is a well known town in Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, India, famous for the majestic Havelis and rich cultural heritage, now Mandawa has one more feather in cap, called "Desert nights", a desert retreat and desert resort !
Rajasthan with its royal legacy, palaces, forts, Aravali mountain range, folk music, wild life, delicious food, colorful clothing, charming and joyful beautiful people has a hard side of life too, the unforgiving Thar desert, where temperature soars to 50 degrees Celsius in summers and -2 degrees in winters ! But Rajasthan has 6 climates, changing every 2 months, where, Dec and Jan, could be extremely cold and May June are very hot.
But no worries, the humble cottages of Desert Nights are, cool in Summer by air condition and hot in winter by European built oil heaters.
The most livable and enjoying months of Rajasthan are Feb, March, April, July, Aug, Sept, Oct, and November.
However, the strong and hard working people of desert has turn desert to their advantage, by adopting a life style, comprising of homes, food, music, clothing so vivid and joyful, that, anyone, who has seen this on a television documentary or photos in a magazine, wish to be part of this desert life, be it one night or for life time.

Near by attractions to visit- Village Churi Ajit Garh has a great history and has some architectural wonders to see. The Havelies built here in last 250 years are some of the finest in Rajasthan, in terms of architecture and wall paintings.
There are 16 known towns near by has a history to tell about their rich cultural past and heritage.
The towns of Shekhawati are eminent for their amazing
painted Havelis. Such is the appeal of the Havelis that this
region is dubbed as "open art gallery of Rajasthan". The
plethora of painted Havelis in rich artistic tradition makes it
commendable and fascinating. Most of the buildings are dated
from 18th century to early 20th century. The Shekhawati
landscape is dotted with so many Havelis that tracking them is
something like a treasure hunt.
How to reach here- "Desert Night" is situated, 265 KM from New Delhi and 175 KM from Jaipur and could be reached by road ! The Roads from every directions are well built to reach here, by taxi, your own car or by bus.
The big city near by are Sikar and Jhunjhunu !
Nearest Airport is Jaipur and flights from Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and other major cities of India are regular and on daily basis.
Jaipur is also connected by few International flights, providing European connection via Etihad airway and few more international airlines.
